SEAT Leon CUPRA R debut in Frankfurt
Recently, SEAT has announced it will be introducing the new León CUPRA R at the Frankfurt motor show next month and the model will be the most powerful León available Europe-wide. The car will be equipped by a VW Group 2.0 liter TSI engine that capable to produce 265hp. That number is achieved partly through the use of a new high-pressure fuel injector and SEAT promises the model will still meeting EU5 emission norms. The only León models available that top that are the very limited León Cupra 310 Limited Edition with 306 bhp sold exclusively in the Netherlands, and the German market-only Leon Cupra Edition with 282 bhp. The standard Leon Cupra comes with the 2.0 liter TSI dialed to 240 hp.The León CUPRA R will also feature SEAT's XDS system, a self-locking differential that works with the ESP system to improve traction. Seat promises the León CUPRA R will deliver an "easy torque transmission and elasticity" while clocking in its 0 to 100 km/h sprint at 6.2 seconds and maxing out speed at 250 km/h (probably electronically limited, although SEAT does not say).

Consumption is a reasonable 8.1 liters/100 km, considering all the dust-making capabilities of a 265 hp hot-hatch. A set of 19 inch five double spokes wheels with 235/35 tires will be fitted to the car as well. New set superior brakes have been added to compliment and match the performance being generated from under the hood. For the interior, bucket sport seats upholstered in gray Alcantara as well as white LED lights on the instrument panel to give the Cupra R a proper touch of sportiveness.

JE Design SEAT Exeo Sport Tourer & Leon FR/Cupra
JE Design has released their new Seat Exeo Sport Tourer and the Seat Leon FR/Cupra over the weekend. The Exeo ST is somewhat of a follow-up for the design firm; JE Design released a tuning kit for the Exeo sedan back in April. That project intended to make the "middle class limousine" more like "a sports car with four doors."From the sketch provided, it appears the new project bears strong similarity to the sedan. The sketch shows a car with the exact same front end, including the new spoiler and grille. Wheels appear to be the same 19-inchers previously used, leading to identical side sills and mirrors. We imagine the ST is also lowered by about 35mm.
What we can't see in the sketch is the back. Hopefully, JE Design brings something new to the table at the rear of the car, truly differentiating the ST from the sedan.
We do see something interesting on the Leon FR/Cupra. It appears the vehicle will also have a unique front-end, including updates to the fascia, spoiler, and fog lamp enclosures. The radiator grille, headlamps, and side mirrors keep the same shape, but the side sills get some needed flair.
