Renault-Nissan chooses AXA to provide roadside assistance for EVs
Those who own or plan to own a Renault-Nissan electric vehicle can breathe easy now that Renault and Nissan have inked a Europe-wide assistance contract for their electric vehicle range. Starting next year, owners of the Leaf will receive added security and backup. And in the second half of 2011, the Kangoo, Fluence and Twizy will also be covered. The contract given to AXA Vehicle Assistance covers 21 European countries, namely: France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, UK, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Norway, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden and Switzerland. Renault-Nissan said that the deal is “the first step” in its global strategy to prepare for the wide-scale launch of electric vehicles. For this scheme, AXA is currently introducing training schemes at its roadside assistance partners.[via-4wheelsnews]
